Sledding in Davos

Tobogganing in Davos – An Adventure for Young and Old. Davos Klosters is considered the cradle of international tobogganing: the first official toboggan race was held here as early as 1883. The famous “Davoser Schlitten”, often copied worldwide, evolved in Davos Klosters into the classic natural track sled.

Adventurous sledders will find excitement on the Rinerhorn in Davos Glaris, just about 10 minutes by car or bus. The 3.5 km long toboggan run with over 33 curves promises pure fun for the brave – young and old alike. Whether on the traditional Davoser sled, the Zipfelbob, or the inflatable Airboard, pure sledding enjoyment awaits. On Wednesdays and Fridays, night tobogganing is possible from 7:00 pm to 11:00 pm. Sleds or Zipfelbobs can be rented at the Rinerhorn mountain station for a fee.

The family run from Schatzalp, 300 meters above Davos, is perfect for children and beginners. The wide 2.8 km run winds through 18 curves in the magical Schatzalp forest down to Davos Platz.

Did you know? At our sport hotel, sleds (some with child seats) are available for guests. You are welcome to borrow a sled from our ski room, subject to availability.

And sledding isn’t just fun in winter! On the summer toboggan run at Schatzalp, a lift takes you up, and you race down the 500-meter-long track. Between May and October, the summer toboggan run is open in good weather.

It all started with the legendary Davoser Schlitten – experience the tradition yourself!
