Davos Klosters is a winter sports metropolis and a paradise for snowboarders and ski enthusiasts from all over the world. The 56 modern lifts provide access to 307 km of well-groomed slopes of all difficulty levels. Skiing has a long tradition in Davos. Around the turn of the century, it was mainly the English – including Arthur Conan Doyle, the father of Sherlock Holmes – as well as some locals who significantly shaped the beginnings of alpine skiing.
The world’s first T-bar lift opened in 1934 at Bolgen; part of it can now be seen in the Winter Sports Museum in Davos. Davos was also a pioneer in snowboarding. One of the first places to recognize the potential of this then-trendy sport, Davos quickly became a snowboard hotspot in the early 1990s and has strengthened its excellent reputation in this field year after year.
At our ski hotel in Davos, you can purchase lift passes at discounted rates directly at the reception. We are also happy to put together a ski package tailored to your needs and interests.
